Scott Collins, CJE, advises the yearbook, website, middle school newspaper and high school newspaper at University Prep in Seattle. Collins also teaches a three-week immersive broadcast class each spring. He previously taught podcasting and advised a literary magazine. This is Collins’ 11th year advising student media. Prior to UPrep, he oversaw the journalism program at Raytown High School in Raytown, Missouri, and taught English at Oak Hill School in Eugene, Oregon. Before teaching, he worked as a local TV news producer in Portland and Seattle. He has also worked in newsrooms in Kansas City and Columbia, Missouri. He graduated with a bachelor of journalism degree from the world’s first journalism school at the University of Missouri.
