President Chris Twombley has been teaching English at Mercer Island for 24 years and has served as The Islander’s adviser for the last 12. In 2019 Twombley received the Fern Valentine Freedom of Expression award and was named WJEA Adviser of the Year.

Outside the classroom, Twombley enjoys travel, nature, knifemaking and woodworking, going to concerts and spending time with his kids and friends.
