Past President Sandra Coyer recognized with Medal of Merit award

Past President Sandra Coyer was recognized today at the JEA/NSPA Fall National Convention in Chicago, IL with a Medal of Merit award.

The award is presented to individuals for their contribution to the scholastic journalism community through their career.

Coyer has served as the WJEA President for two terms. Prior to that, she served as the JEA Regional Director, responsible for supporting scholastic media advisers in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
“This is a very humbling award,” Coyer said. “There are so many amazing individuals in the scholastic journalism world who do so much; it’s incredible to be included in their company for this designation.”
