Attend the summer workshop for free! Here’s your chance to show your potential to impact your school’s journalism program. The application is simple, so send it in. Three grants will be awarded. No more than two grants may be awarded to the same school. The summer workshop is Aug. 7-10, 2011, at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Check our Web site, www.wjea.org, for more information or to download registration materials. Your adviser must be a current WJEA member for you to qualify. Grant application deadline is May 20. Applicants will be notified of status by June 2.

Goal:
The purpose of the WJEA Workshop Grant is to invest in student journalists of promise by waiving the fee to attend the WJEA Summer Workshop. Judges will consider how the student and his or her scholastic journalism program will benefit as a result of attending the workshop. Financial need is also a strong consideration.
